WHY LEADERSHIP TRAINING FAILS

 

TrainingIndustry.com says that leadership training is a $366 billion industry. Yet, in spite of the expense, it fails to create real and lasting impact. (McKinsey)

$166 billion is spent annually on leadership training in the US alone. And yet, when asked, just 11% of executives said that their leadership training programmes were making an impact. 

 

5 Things Missing from Most Leadership Training

  1. Personalization.
    99% of leadership training is geared to generic work groups. NOT to the individual.
  2. Customization.
    Because it doesn’t address the underlying root cause of the individual’s mindset, anxiety, personal struggle and what needs to change to be their best.
  3. Effectiveness.
    If the mind is like a personal computer, the training or coaching attempts to rewrite code by writing on the monitor. How effective is that?
  4. Permanent Change.
    If you’re expecting deep change from group training, you’re barking up the wrong tree.
  5. Information-based.
    Most executive development provides tools and tactics as opposed to changing behavior, which is the hardest thing to change.
